Brewers' Nilsson On 15-Day DL
All-Star catcher David Nilsson, who broke his right thumb during a game at San Diego last weekend, was put on the 15-day disabled list Monday by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Nilsson, 30, was hurt when hit by a foul tip in the first inning Saturday. He was batting .311 with 21 home runs and 62 RBIs through 112 games this season.
Milwaukee recalled catcher/infielder Brian Banks from Triple-A Louisville. Banks, 28, spent most of the season with the Brewers and was sent down Aug. 20 when Jeromy Burnitz was activated from the DL.
