Boston grandmother arrested for protesting on school bus
BOSTON -- A Boston woman was charged with trespassing Thursday after protesting what she called dangerous riding conditions on Boston school buses, reports CBS Boston.
Mary Franklin, whose 5-year-old granddaughter is in kindergarten, was charged with trespassing after boarding a school bus with a homemade sign.
"BPS bus drivers can't babysit our children," the sign read. "Place monitors on school buses now! You've messed with the wrong grandma!"
She told CBS Boston that she is upset that there is no one monitoring children between the ages of four and six on the school bus.
"Because of that, my 5-year-old granddaughter was suspended off of her bus two times for acting like a 5-year-old," says Franklin.
A school representative said this is not the first time Franklin has protested the bus. They previously sent her a letter, warning her not to trespass.
