Boost Your Productivity with Three-Martini Lunch

martini.jpgA new study published in today's New England Journal of Medicine suggests that highly stressed workers can benefit from consuming three alcoholic beverages at lunchtime. Here's an excerpt:

Participants in the study reported that [after the lunch hour] their workloads no longer seemed as daunting, and that they felt better about work in general. Creativity flowed more easily, and the overall work atmosphere seemed lighter. Participants also had an easier time communicating with their bosses about work-related matters and felt less inhibited about voicing opinions and ideas.
"Obviously we want people to use this information responsibly," said April Furst, who co-authored the study. "No one who has three drinks at lunch should ever get behind the wheel of car, regardless of their eagerness to get back to the office."

I'll second that. Luckily, I only have to walk back down the basement stairs after lunch, so no worries there. I'll give this method a try and report my findings. In the meantime, if you've had three drinks with lunch, hit the Comments and let us know how it affected your productivity. Cheers! [via TheMartiniBlog]
