Boehner To Undergo Back Surgery Friday

House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) will undergo back surgery Friday at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland to repair a bulging disc that has caused the Ohio Republican increased discomfort in recent weeks, according to his office.

Boehner will recuperate over the weekend, missing a scheduled farm forum in his district on Saturday, but he expects to be back at his normal schedule next week.

The Republican leader has endured sharp back and leg pain in recent weeks as a result of the bulging disc.
