Body found on Queen Elizabeth's estate likely a murder victim, say British cops

(CBS/AP) ENGLAND - Maybe they should call in Agatha Christie.

A woman's body was found in a wooded area on a country estate owned by England's Queen Elizabeth Sunday. Police have launched a murder investigation and are examining cold cases nationwide for potential links.

"A member of the public was walking their dog in the area on New Year's Day around about 4pm, when they found a body and called the police," Detective Chief Inspector Jes Fry said Tuesday. He said that forensic experts are "working the scene" and that the remains - which have yet to be identified - will be taken for a post-mortem today.

The Queen and her husband, Prince Phillip, were spending Christmas and the New Year at the estate, known as Sandringham House, which has been in the royal family since 1862. They are expected return to London in February.
