Body found in Oakland ID'd as missing federal investigator

OAKLAND, Calif. Authorities say a body found near a Northern California park last week is that of a missing federal investigator.

Oakland police identified the remains as those of 50-year-old Sandra Coke of Oakland on Tuesday.

Search and rescue crews found the body in a woodsy area near Laguna Valley Park in unincorporated Vacaville on Friday afternoon.

Coke worked as a capital case investigator for the federal public defender's office in Sacramento. CBS Bay Area affiliate KCBS reports she was last seen by her 15-year-old daughter when she left home on Aug. 4, at about 8:30 p.m.

Oakland police have identified Coke's former boyfriend, Randy Alana, as a person of interestin the case. Police say he and Coke were seen together the day she disappeared.

Police spokeswoman Johanna Watson said at a brief news conference Tuesday afternoon the department was unable to release any other information about the case.

"We are extremely limited in the amount of information we can share with the community," Watson said, according to KCBS.
