Bo, Sunny Obama gussy up for state dinner

It’s a doggone shame there isn’t a “best dressed” list for animals.

Ahead of President Obama’s first state dinner of his second term Tuesday night, first lady Michelle Obama posted to Twitter a photo showing that everyone at the White House is ready to host visiting French President Francois Hollande – including first dogs Bo and Sunny.

“Bone appetit!” she cracked alongside a picture of the Portuguese water dogs poised at an elegantly set dinner table. Dressed to the nines, Sunny dons a chic gold necklace; Bo sports a dashing red collar.

The dinner – the seventh of Mr. Obama’s administration –  will host some 350 guests in a large tent on the White House South Lawn. Nine-time Grammy winner Mary J. Blige will provide the entertainment.

If the dogs do make an appearance, let’s hope they can contain their excitement: Sunny notoriously knocked over a two-year old during a White House holiday party in December.
