Billy Ray Cyrus calls off divorce

(CBS) - Billy Ray Cyrus has decided not to end his 17-year marriage to wife Tish after all.

"I've dropped the divorce," Cyrus, 49, said during in an interview on "The View" airing Friday. "I want to put my family back together. Things are the best they've ever been."

According to TMZ, the "Achy Breaky Heart" singer filed papers to officially withdraw his divorce petition on March 11 in Williamson County, Tenn. A judge signed the order  that day.

The couple announced their plansto divorce in October, two months before a video of their 18-year-old daughter Miley taking a bonghit surfaced on the internet.

Cyrus expressed concernsabout Miley last month in GQ and said the Disney TV show "Hannah Montana" destroyed his family.

But he took back those comments in the same "View" interview, saying "I don't think "Hannah Montana" ruined my family. Now fame, fame is a different animal. You've got to be careful with that thing."

"I feel like I got my Miley back in a way," he added. "I feel like we are the daddy and daughter that we were before "Hannah Montana" happened."
