Bill Macatee

Bill Macatee joined CBS Sports in 1995 as studio host for the Network's golf coverage. His additional duties for CBS Sports include play-by-play for college basketball, tennis, and golf.

He also serves as a reporter for CBS's Olympic Winterfest broadcasts. Macatee currently serves as host of the USA Network's extensive professional golf coverage including the Masters, NEC World Series of Golf, and the Ryder Cup.

Additional duties for USA Network include play-by-play for the US Open Tennis, French Open, and selected sports specials. He currently calls more play-by-play of Grand Slam tennis for American television than any other broadcaster.

He joined USA in 1990. Before USA Network Macatee co-anchored USA Today on TV. He began his network career with NBC in 1982 at the age of 26, becoming the youngest network sportscaster in the industry.

With NBC Sports, he hosted a variety of major events, including late-night coverage of Wimbledon and the World Series, as well as the pre-game shows for Major League Baseball's League Championship Series, Super Bowl XVII, and college Bowl games. In addition, he served as the sports correspondent for the Today Show, and sports anchor for NBC News at Sunrise and Sunday Today. He was born November 17, 1955 in Rome, New York, and earned a degree in speech from Lamar University in 1978.
