In the season four opener, Sheldon Cooper's love life looks to be a constant source of material, with the episode "The Robotic Manipulation" largely centering around his first-ever encounter with Amy Fowler. Yes, the digital age has finally brought love to Mr. Cooper.
Sheldon (Jim Parsons) has his first date ever with his pseudo girlfriend, Amy (Mayim Bialik), which provided wonderful insinuations that he is more human than we think. The two are so similar and they email, text, and Twitter each other so frequently that Raj, Leonard, and Howard have started calling them "Shamey."
Another interesting theme is that Sheldon would not be reproducing via sexual intercourse, which he regards as messy and unsanitary. He instead looks for procreating via in vitro fertilization. Respecting Sheldon's ultra modern views, Penny still contends that Sheldon should spend at least some time with Amy in person if she is going to give birth to his child.
The best one-liner in the show came from Sheldon to Penny (Kaley Cuoco): "You have broad hips and a certain corn-fed vigor. Is your womb available for rent?"
