Bears Sign Brockermeyer 4-Yrs
The Chicago Bears agreed to terms Saturday with former Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Blake Brockermeyer on a four-year contract worth $17 million.
"I felt comfortable with the organization when I came to Chicago for my visit," Brockermeyer said Saturday. "After talking with the coaching staff and mangagement, I like the direction the team is heading."
Brockermeyer, 25, started 14 games at left tackle for the Panthers last year. He sat out two games with a sprained knee.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pounder from Texas was the youngest starting left tackle his rookie year in 1995, playing in all 16 games for the Panthers.
