"Bachelor" Sean Lowe defends wife's April Fools' Day joke

Sean Lowe and his wife, Catherine, are backtracking on a April Fools' Day joke gone wrong.

On Wednesday, Catherine posted a photo on Instagram in which she seemingly looked pregnant. She captioned it "17 weeks."

Many followers believed the big news, and some "Bachelor" fans were none to pleased to find out it was actually a joke.

Sean Lowe has since tried to clear up the story, explaining in a blog post that "on nearly every picture Catherine posts on Instagram, she gets flooded with comments from people who tell her she looks pregnant. We understand that many of these people have no ill intent and are genuinely just hoping that we're pregnant because they want to see us start our family, and we totally get that. But at the same time, it would be really tough for any woman to hear that 'she looks pregnan' on a daily basis when she's not."

He added, "Here's the thing: I understand there are a lot of people hurting out there who are struggling with fertility and they are left with feelings of worry, frustration, and anger. I get that. But my wife's Instagram is not the place to voice those feelings. The ironic part is that Catherine has a huge heart for women who are struggling with fertility. In fact, she was brought to tears just this past Saturday after a friend of ours told us she lost her child in the womb."
