Aston Martin stolen in Fla. home invasion; car recovered, suspect still running

The Fla. mansion from which an Aston Martin was stolen, then returned CBS Miami

(CBS) CORAL GABLES, Fla. - A $120,000 sports car was stolen in an overnight home invasion by a masked gunman in Coral Gables, Fla. and was then found dumped hours later, reports CBS Miami. Now, police are searching for the suspect.

Police say the suspect ditched the black 2011 Aston Martin in Kendall. It was towed from the location and was being processed for evidence.

Officer Kelly Dunham said a man confronted a woman inside her 12,000 sq. ft. mansion in the gated Gables Estates community around midnight Thursday. The suspect, whose face was covered, was armed and forced the woman to get on the ground, reports the station. He allegedly tied her hands and feet before ransacking the home.

The victim told CBS Miami she was very shaken by the incident.

"This victim, thank God, was not injured physically. But the emotional trauma is something she will probably never forget," said Officer Denham.

Police are working to determine how the gunman got into the gated, guarded community.

Authorities urge anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
