Arkansas murder suspect arrested after manhunt

PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- An Arkansas man wanted on a December murder charge was apprehended early Thursday after evading police and sparking an hours-long manhunt, reports CBS affiliate WTHV.

Quincy Chambers was wanted for capital murder in the death of 30-year-old Derrick Matthews, who was found shot to death inside a car in Pine Bluff on December 29.

Arkansas State Police spokesperson Bill Sadler said Chambers fled from police around 7 p.m. Wednesday and crashed his truck into a median. He reportedly ran from the scene and then evaded police for roughly seven hours.

Thirty-three-year-old Trevion Dickson, of Pine Bluff, was also named as a person of interest in the case and arrested the day after Matthews's body was discovered. However, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Dickson has at this point only been charged on multiple counts of failure to appear in court.

Chambers is currently held on a capital murder charge.
