Apple announces 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display
Apple announced a 13-inch MacBoook Pro with Retina display Tuesday at the California Theater in San Jose, Calif. The smaller laptop offers Apple fans a cheaper alternative to the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display.
"Today is a very big day for the Mac." senior vice president Phil Shiller said, adding that the 13-inch MacBook is the best selling Apple laptop.
Shiller took the stage to introduce
the 13-inch MacBook with Retina display. The laptop features 13.30-inch
monitor, 2560 x 1,600 Retina display, USB 3, HDMI, two Thunderbolt
ports, and an SD card reader.
The 2.5 Ghz dual-core i5 model retails for $1,699, with 8GB RAM and 128GB of memory. Non-Retina display versions of the MacBook Pro are also available, with the 13-inch model starting at $1,199 and 15-inch model starting at $1,799. The new MacBook Pros are available now.
