(CBS) - Anna Gristina, the so-called "Manhattan Madam" accused of running an upscale escort service in New York City, will be in court today for sentencing, CBS New York reports.
Gristina pleaded guilty on September to a single count of promoting prostitution. She has been free on bail since June after spending nearly four months behind bars on Riker's Island. Her plea deal includes a six-month jail term, but she may be sentenced to time served.
A judge also told Gristina, who is a legal U.S. resident originally from Scotland, that she faces the possibility of deportation.
Prosecutors charged Gristina in February after receiving a tip alleging that she was running an upscale prostitution ring out of an apartment on the Upper East Side.
