The detective told jurors he asked the Baldwin County coroner to do a full autopsy on the body of the 45-year-old Gulf Shores real estate agent, including a sexual assault test and a test for gun residue; however, to the investigator's knowledge neither test was conducted, reports CBS affiliate WKRG.

When it came time for defense attorney Dennis Knizley to cross-examine the witness, he first asked the investigator if he recalled that Nodine offered to have his own hands tested for gun powder residue.

Although the investigator told jurors that he remembered hearing from other officers regarding that matter, he was not directly part of the conversation, says WKRG.

Knizley then challenged the investigator's previous testimony citing the position of Angel Downs' body at the crime scene.

According to WKRG, the investigator along with at least three other first responders testified that no one at the scene of the crime moved Downs' body; however, Knizley showed two pictures of Downs' body taken by two different officers, intended to contradict that claim.

In each of the photos, Angel Downs' right arm was in a different position.

Nodine is accused of stalking and fatally shooting his long-time mistress, Angel Downs, at her condo in Gulf Shores on Mother's Day.

In addition to murder, Nodine is also charged with stalking and with an ethics charge for misuse of his county-issued pickup truck. Nodine's defense team has suggested Downs committed suicide, and said in opening statements that Downs had various prescription drugs and alcohol in her body when she died.
