(CBS) Andrew Garfield, the new Spider-man, is single. The movie web-slinger and his girlfriend of three years have split, People reports.

The American-born but raised-in-England Garfield, best known to American audiences as Facebook co-creator Eduardo Saverin in "The Social Network," dated Shannon Woodward for three years. Woodward is an actress who is a regular on the FOX series "Raising Hope." Its second season premieres in the fall.
"The Amazing Spider-Man," in which Garfield plays Peter Parker and Spider-Man, is set for a July 3 release. The movie also stars Emma Stone, Denis Leary and C. Thomas Howell.
