Amp Up Your Desktop with an Attractive, Functional Wallpaper
When it comes to giving you control over the appearance of your desktop, Windows has come a long way in the last few years. These days, you can run a photo slideshow and adorn the desktop with a wide range of gadgets. Today, though, I've got a clever app you can use to display a large clock and calendar right on the desktop. It's attractive, functional, and professional-looking. And as I write this, just one day before our annual giant turkey feast, I give thanks for this fun way to jazz up your daily workspace.
SE-DesktopConstructor is a simple utility that lets you position a clock and calendar on the desktop. You can choose from a large number of preset styles, add gradient backgrounds, and even rotate the background images just like the Windows 7 desktop background control.
The configuration controls aren't difficult to figure out, but you are kind of on your own -- the user interface is both sparse and terse, and there's no help in sight. That said, it took me about 5 minutes to completely redesign the sample desktop configuration, and I love the results. If you need to jazz up your desktop, give it a shot. [via Lifehacker]
