'American Idol?' It's Elementary
Kids can be idols, too. Or so the thinking goes at The Early Show.
Weatherman and features reporter Dave Price wondered, what if "American Idol" were limited to kids?
He went to Somerville Elementary School in Ridgewood, N.J., to find out.
The rules, Price says: Anything goes: singing, dancing, poetry, magic, whatever."
He visited three classrooms, each with its own set of three judges. "The acts," he says, "were a little less polished than in the "American Idol" for grownups; the judges a whole lot less mean, and the talent and fun -- through the roof. The result, a little something The Early Show is dubbing "Elementary Idol."
