"Amazing Race" Poker Players Out of Luck

Professional poker players Tiffany and Maria were eliminated from "The Amazing Race" in Sunday night's episode after a test of strength called their bluff.

The two switched back and forth between two detours that were intended to demonstrate pasttimes in the Netherlands, the country visited on this leg of the race. Despite 71 tries, neither woman could ring the bell on a carnival test-of-strength game in one challenge. Neither could they hit the balls far enough in the Farmer's Game, which was similar to golf, with players striking large balls with wooden mallets.

The two had finally come to the conclusion that they were never going to finish the challenge anrd would have to withdraw from the race when host Phil Keoghan found them on the course.

Things also did not go well for married couple Brian and Ericka. First, Ericka needed multiple tries to count the the 62 carillon bells in a tower while all the other teams got it on their first trip up the tower. Then, the pair got a 30-minute penalty for not riding bikes, as instructed in one of the clues.

Sam and Dean, who finally came out of the closet to their competitors in this episode, arrived first at the Pit Stop. A sand buggy was their prize.

Also still in the race are dating couple Meghan and Cheyne, who came in first three times before, father and son Gary and Matt and Harlem Globetrotter teammates Flight Time and Big Easy.

The next leg of this 15th version of "The Amazing Race" will take teams to Sweden.
