Alleged "Victoria's Secret" thieves arrested in Fla.

SUNRISE, Fla. - Police say they have arrested two males suspected of stealing thousands of dollars in panties from a Victoria’s Secret store in Sunrise, Fla., reports CBS Miami.

Eighteen-year old Daniel Espinosa and a juvenile male are charged with grand theft for allegedly going on three shoplifting sprees in late 2013 in which nearly $12,000 in merchandise was stolen from the chic lingerie shop in the Sawgrass Mills mall.

According to Espinosa’s arrest report, the pair are accused of stealing 300 “Dream Angel” thongs valued at $3,750 on Nov. 23.

About three weeks later, on December 13, the pair allegedly went back to the store and stole 175 pairs of women’s underwear valued at approximately $2,500, reports CBS Miami.

A week later, on Dec. 20, Sunrise police said the pair struck again but the third time wasn’t the charm.

An employee, who works loss prevention at the store, reportedly watched as they stole more than $5,400 worth of underwear, the arrest report said. The employee went after them and confronted them in a mall common area, where police say the thieves pushed to her to the ground, dropped the stolen merchandise and took off.

Last week, police released surveillance pictures of the two people they were looking for in the case. Shortly thereafter, police received a tip from a woman who saw the story on the news, reports the station.

That helped them to track down the suspects and make arrests.

During questioning, police say Espinosa admitted to the thefts and implicated the juvenile as his accomplice.
