Alleged Madam Due In Court

She is accused of having a client list that would make Heidi Fleiss jealous.

A woman, known as "Babydol," has pleaded not guilty to charges she ran a high-priced prostitution ring catering to some of Hollywood's rich and famous. Correspondent Catherine Anaya of CBS station KCBS-TV in Los Angeles reports.

Investigators say 41-year-old Jody Diane "Babydol" Gibson ran one of the busiest escort services in Los Angeles - a prostitution ring servicing celebrities, Fortune 500 CEOs and at least one professional athlete.

The alleged madam appeared for the first time in a Los Angeles County courtroom. She is charged with nine counts of pimping and pandering.

Detectives arrested Gibson at a Los Angeles area hotel in early June after a 10-month investigation. They say she had nearly 40 women working for her at one time - some who were paid up to $3,000 per date - girls and clients who may have also been involved in convicted Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss' prostitution ring.

"If you believe what she writes, there is an indication that Heidi Fleiss came to her about a job back in 1990," said Lt. Mike Felix of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Investigators also claim Gibson ran a client-only Internet site, an operation that also employed women in Arizona, Colorado, Texas, New York, and even Europe.

They also claim to have manuscripts Gibson allegedly wrote with details about her business.

Gibson is due back in court July 14 to set a date for a preliminary hearing. She remains free on $25,000 bail.
