(CBS/AP) PENSACOLA, Fla. - Alex King, who served time as a juvenile for killing his father in 2001, was arrested and charged Thursday with leaving the scene of a car crash.

Authorities say King, now 21, was also jailed on charges of right-of-way violation and driver's license restrictions.

Alex King was 13 and his brother Derek was 14 when both pleaded guilty to third-degree murder for killing their father, by smashing his skull with a baseball bat as he slept.

Derek admitting to wielding the bat and Alex confessed that he helped.

At the time of his arrest last Thursday, Alex King was on probation for a 2005 escape charge and could go back to prison. In 2008, he was sentenced to five years of probation for an attempted escape from the Okeechobee Juvenile Offender Corrections Center, where he was doing time for his father's murder.

He was released from Escambia County Jail in the traffic case on $1,000 bond.
