Add Multiple Home Pages to Your Browser

home-pages.jpg
Ever wish you could load multiple Web pages every time you start Firefox or Internet Explorer? You can, so long as you have the latest versions of each (2.0 and 7, respectively).

  • In Firefox, set up the tabs the way you want them: Google in one, Business Hacks in another (hint, hint), your company's home page in a third, and so on. Once you've got all your desired "home pages" loaded, click Tools > Options, then the Main button. In the Startup section, click Use Current Pages; you'll see the URLs appear for all the currently open tabs. Click OK and you're done: The next time you start Firefox, all the previous tabs will load.
  • In Internet Explorer, it's a virtually identical process: Set up your tabs, click Tools > Internet Options, and then click the Use Current button.
Firefox users may also want to check out one of my all-time favorite extensions: PermaTabs. It makes any tab "permanent" for as long as you want, without monkeying with Firefox settings. I use it constantly. [via Bauer-Power]
