Aaron Hernandez due in court in 2012 Boston drive-by slaying

BOSTON - Former New England Patriots player Aaron Hernandez is due in court Tuesday for a hearing in a Boston case accusing him of killing two men in a 2012 drive-by slaying.

Hernandez, 24, has pleaded not guilty to killing Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado.

Prosecutors say one of the men accidentally bumped into Hernandez, spilling his drink and angering him earlier on the night of the shooting. They say Hernandez went to another club, then drove around until he found the men and pulled alongside their car at a red light. Prosecutors say he fatally shot the two men and wounded a third.

Hernandez's lawyers say he's looking forward to proving his innocence.

The former football star is also charged in the June 2013 shooting death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. He has pleaded not guilty to that crime as well.

Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Herndandez's fiancee, was found dead at an industrial park in North Attleborough, Mass., not far from Hernandez's home.
