Aaron Hernandez associate pleads not guilty to murder

FALL RIVER, Mass. - An associate of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the shooting death of a man last summer near Hernandez's home.

The associate, Ernest Wallace, was arraigned Thursday in Superior Court in Fall River.

Wallace had already pleaded not guilty to accessory charges in the 2013 killing of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd. Another man who faces murder charges, Carlos Ortiz, is being arraigned May 27. Wallace and Ortiz are from Hernandez's hometown of Bristol, Connecticut.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to murder in the death of 27-year-old Lloyd, who was dating his fiancée's sister.

Separately, Hernandez was indicted Thursday on murder charges in the 2012 shooting deaths of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in Boston. His lawyers say he's innocent.
