A Twisted Metal movie is in the works
(CBS) The live-action video game Twisted Metal is headed to the big screen. Deadline reports that Sony Pictures has tapped Brian Taylor to write and direct the film.
Taylor, who has worked on the "Crank" movies and "Jonah Hex," reportedly signed a 7-figure contract. "Spider-Man" producer Avi Arad has also signed on to the movie.
According to Deadline, the film adaptation will feature the vehicular combat game's key characters, including the clown serial killer Sweet Tooth and the young masked woman, Dollface.
The film will reportedly focus on an "underground event" that has a string of combatants fighting with heavy weaponry and in "weaponized" vehicles.
