A Taxing Issue To Watch

Denver residents' passage of a measure that would allow for the possession of small amounts of marijuana got a lot of national attention today but it was hardly the most important result of yesterday's vote. First off, officials say the pot measure has no relevance because the state's laws against it will still be enforced. More importantly, the passage of Referendum C, which halts over $3 billion in scheduled tax refunds, is being seen as something that could establish a trend impacting millions of taxpayers.
