A New Way to Practice for the SAT Test

Row of yellow pencilsNeed help practicing for the SAT test?

Most teenagers do and with the SAT test dates looming, I wanted to share a great new resource for SAT test takers.

You can find SAT practice help by visiting ShowMe, which provides free video tutorials for the standardized test's math, reading and writing sections.

To take advantage of the free site, you need a copy of the College Board's Official SAT Study Guide, 2nd Edition. I believe this Amazon-bestselling title, which weighs nearly 3 ½ pounds, is the best book to use when studying for the SAT.

Mini SAT Lessons

ShowMe has brought together SAT tutors who record answers to the individual questions in the Official SAT Study Guide. A visitor, for instance, who is stuck on a particular math question in one of the book's practice tests can click on the video that contains the explanation.

The tutor typically provides an explanation of the correct answer and why the other responses are wrong in a one- to two-minute video.

Tutors are providing answers for free in hopes that students will hire them for more in-depth SAT prep work.

Here are a couple of SAT practice video examples from ShowMe:

The creators of ShowMe, which is a product of Easel Learning in New York city, plan to eventually expand their videos to cover many other test prep books. For now, you can find videos for three of the practice tests in the College Board guide.

Good luck studying.
