A Harmonious Homage for Judy Garland
A celebration of Judy Garland's movies and music opens Friday at a St. Paul cabaret.
The show, "Judy Garland: Born in a Trunk," is playing at The Cabaret Theater at Camp Bar. It runs Friday and Saturday evenings through Nov. 14.
Alicia Renee will sing such Garland favorites as "I Got Rhythm," "The Trolley Song" and "Over the Rainbow."
Garland was born Frances Gumm in Grand Rapids, Minn., where she lived until she was 4. After her family moved to California, Garland starred as Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz" and went on to singing roles in other classic movies such as "Meet Me in St. Louis" and "A Star Is Born."
We're Still "Over the Rainbow" for Oz
Garland was 47 when she died of a drug overdose in London in 1969.
