A Familiar Voice

Pocahontas 2, Journey to a New World has arrived in video stores. In the original movie, Mel Gibson was the voice of Captain John Smith. This time around, the voice may sound familiar, but it's not Mel Gibson.

With a similar look, same voice, and same joking style, who better to take over the role of John Smith than younger brother Donal Gibson?

Gibson says being a relative of a famous actor doesn't necessarily get in the way. "It's one of those questions; I don't even think about it anymore too much. If it's difficult for me because of him, I can't give you an example of how. At the same time, it doesn't make it any easier. That's all I can think of to say about that."

He says it feels great to be in a Disney film. "I'm proud of the film. I have seen it, and I know it's good. I'm not just saying that because I'm in it."

Donal would love to do more animated work and is working on a couple of scripts he would like to see become movies. He also holds a patent for a new type of CD packaging.
