7-year-old Ga. girl rescued from well

Child airlifted after being rescued from well in Carroll County CBS Atlanta

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- Carroll County, Ga., emergency crews responded to a call of a 7-year-old girl who fell down a well in Whitesburg, Ga.,

The girl was successfully rescued.

CBS Atlanta's SkyEye was on the scene when the girl was rescued and showed the girl being transferred by ambulance to a nearby helicopter.

Carroll County Fire Department Lt. Clay Kierbow was lowered into the well to rescue the girl and told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution she fell into the hole in an awkward position.

Carroll County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Brad Robinson says the girl was alert, conscious and breathing when she was lifted from the well.
