64-year-old man hit in the head by pumpkin flung from car
(CBS/AP/KDKA) OAKMONT, Pa. - Police near Pittsburgh are searching for the person who threw a pumpkin out of a moving car and hit a 64-year-old man in the head.
According to CBS station KDKA, Police Chief David DiSanti says that Rose and Daniel Wagner were walking along Pennsylvania Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when someone hurled a pumpkin from a car.
Rose Wagner says the episode happened so fast, she didn't even realize right away that it was a pumpkin that had knocked her husband to the ground.
Daniel Wagner was taken to the local hospital emergency room, sore and bruised, and his wife says he may have a concussion. It doesn't appear he has suffered any permanent brain injuries.
Law enforcement officials are investigating a report of a stolen pumpkin from a home nearby that may be connected to the incident.
Police encourage anyone with details or information to call them.
