6 Die In Maryland House Fire

An intense fire early Friday morning claimed the lives of six members of one family in Dundalk, Maryland.

A neighbor says he banged on the family's door and heard a smoke detector beeping. Other neighbors say they heard screams for help as the family dog barked wildly.

Neighbors called 911, but it was too late. Within minutes, all the house's occupants were dead: Marie Jamison, 33; her two children, James McCready, 10, and Brandon McCready, 6; Jamison's husband, Raymond, 39; and his two sons, Raymond Jr., 12, and Jacob, 10.

Firefighters found all the bodies on the second floor.

Fire officials say the blaze broke out around 4 a.m. in the family's home in the 100 block of Williams Avenue just south of Baltimore city.

Lt. Glen Blackwell of the Baltimore County Fire Department says the flames were so intense fire-fighters pulled the second alarm seconds after they arrived.

Fire investigators extinguished the blaze just before 6 a.m. and are still trying to determine how it started.

Fire officials haven't yet confirmed whether a working smoke detector was installed.
