5 things to do with a $99 TouchPad

Earlier this month, Hewlett Packard announced a fire sale on its TouchPad tablet computer, which wound up selling for as low as $99. That action triggered a veritable buying frenzy. Not a bad life cycle for a product that was introduced on July 1 and then pronounced dead on Aug. 18 when HP said it would discontinue production the TouchPad as well as its poorly-selling smartphones. (An HP exec hinted to CNET that the company won't leave TouchPad owners in the lurch and that a future update to boost the device's functionality is on the way.)

But even with the current version, how can you go wrong at 99 bucks? That's where CNET's Brian Cooley offers a neat set of ideas on how to put the TouchPad to good use around the house (and in the car) in some very "non-tablet" situations.
