(CBS/KZTV) SAN PATRICIO CO., Texas - The Texas Department of Public Safety says a routine vehicle inspection Tuesday ended up being far from routine, with troopers seizing a tanker truck loaded with 3.9 tons - nearly 8,000 pounds - of marijuana, CBS affiliate KZTV reports.

According to the station, a trooper stopped the truck in San Patricio County, outside of Corpus Christi, to perform a routine visual inspection of the vehicle, but instead found an estimated $3.4 million worth of the drug concealed inside.

The 45-year-old driver, Paul Anthony Simmons of Robstown, was arrested for possession of marijuana and was held on $1 million bond, The Independent reports.
