The 2015 ACMs: Our 6 favorite performances

Clocking in at over three hours, the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards show not short in run-time or performances.

Twenty-three acts performed over the course of the show, and of that 23, there were a few shining moments. Here were our favorite performers from the 2015 ACM's:

George Strait

The show started on a very high note with an early performance from country music icon George Strait. The seasoned vet -- looking very tanned -- kicked his set off with "All My Ex's Live in Texas." Fitting, since the awards took place at the Dallas Cowboy's AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas. Strait then launched into his latest single, "Let It Go." A stellar performance from one of the genre's finest.

Reba McEntire

It's fair to say the evening's best performance were throwbacks. In that vein, Reba McEntire shut it down with a hits medley of her own.

The 60-year-old singer ran through a series of her biggest songs, including "Is There Life Out There," "The Night That the Lights Went Out in Georgia" and "Fancy," before playing her latest, "Going Out Like That." She's never sounded so good! And the loving intro by McEntire's daughter-in-law Kelly Clarkson only made things better.

Christina Aguilera and Rascal Flatts

While Taylor Swift may be busy singing pop, Christina Aguilera has gone country. The pop diva sang "Shotgun" before transitioning into Rascal Flatt's song, "Riot."

"Shotgun" was originally written for Aguilera's character on the ABC series, "Nashville." This season, she's playing pop star Jade St. John in a three-episode story arc. If this performance was any indication, we say yes to country Christina.

Garth Brooks

Strapped with a red, white and blue guitar, Garth Brooks played one for our troops at the 2015 ACMs.

The crowd gave a standing ovation as U.S. servicemen stood at the foot of the stage for the singer's performance of "All-American Kid, off his newest album, "Man Against Machine." It was certainly one of the show's high points.

Nick Jonas with Dan + Shay

Nick Jonas put a country twist on his hit song "Jealous" with the help of country duo Dan + Shay. The group also performed track "Chains" -- a crowd-pleasing moment for both pop and country fans. Dan + Shay was nominated for vocal duo of the year in 2013 and 2014.

Miranda Lambert

We'd be remiss not to mention Miranda Lambert's powerhouse performance. The award-winning singer delivered a sassy, show-stopping medley of "Mama's Broken Heart" and Little Red Wagon" quickly justifying her eight ACM nominations and multiple wins.

Though Lambert performed "Little Red Wagon" just a while ago at the Grammys, we'll give her a pass.

Tell us: Which performances did you enjoy most at the 2015 ACMs?
