10 Lessons from Your IT Guy

Most of us would be up the tech-creek without a paddle if not for our trusty IT department. Tech blog Think Smarter offers 10 things your IT guy wants you to know, a kind of primer for making nice with the company tech guru. A few samples:

I am ok with you making mistakes, fixing them is my job. I am not ok with you lying to me about a mistake you made. It makes it much harder to resolve and thus makes my job more difficult. Be honest and we can get the problem resolved and continue on with our business.
You are not the only one who needs help, and you usually don't have the most urgent issue. Give me some time to get to your problem, it will get fixed.

Admittedly, some of these items seem like excuses for acting rude or not getting things done in a timely manner, but it's always helpful to know where the other guy is coming from, right?
