Holiday adoptions bring new beginnings for 19 children

Just in time for the holidays, 19 children were adopted into new families, including a 14‑year‑old boy who had spent years in foster care. Deputies who first met him during a missing‑child call later chose to adopt him themselves, saying he transformed their lives as much as they transformed his. The family says they’re most excited to share all of his “firsts,” including picking out his very first Christmas tree earlier this month.
