Colombia’s president urges Trump to lift tariffs after deadly earthquake kills hundreds

In the wake of a devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake that claimed at least 289 lives in western Colombia, the country’s new president, Abelardo De La Espriella, is calling on President Trump to temporarily suspend tariffs on Colombian goods to aid recovery efforts. The U.S. administration has not yet responded to the request.
