Alligator Alcatraz's future continues to be unclear as it is reported it might close

Gov. Ron DeSantis is acknowledging that the controversial immigration detention center known as "Alligator Alcatraz," located in the heart of the Florida Everglades, could eventually shut down operations. The comments came after The New York Times reported Thursday that federal and state officials are discussing closing the facility, citing the high cost of operating it — estimated at roughly $1 million a day.
