MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The woman who was shot and killed Black Friday night in a Nordstrom store in Chicago was from South Florida.
Twenty year old Nadia Ezaldein, of Hialeah, was a seasonal employee at the store, according to CBS4 news partner The Miami Herald. She was shot in the head by her ex-boyfriend, 31-year old Marcus Dee, who killed himself before police arrived.
Ezaldein was a student at the University of Chicago but was not currently enrolled.
Both Ezaldein and Dee had requested orders of protection, according to police.
Ezaldein's family said she had been physically and mentally abused by Dee, even after they broke up a year ago. Family also says that Friday was her birthday.
Police said the crime was a case of domestic violence and that there was no threat to other customers or employees.
