MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Two men in custody, two accidents, a 15-block long crime scene and a whole lot of traffic all linked to a shooting in North Miami Beach Tuesday.

According to North Miami Beach police, the shooting took place at a trailer park near Biscayne and 136th Street.

But really this story started several days back.

"The other day, four days ago, they jumped out of their car and got a little 14-year-old kid's gold chain," a resident of the park told CBS4's Hank Tester.

Residents confirmed the same guys were the cause of terror on Tuesday. This time an attempted robbery turned into a shooting.

"Shot at them four kids, running this time. They did not get 'em," said resident Everett O'Neil. "They got scared. Shot numerous times. I heard seven, 10 times."

Following the failed robbery, the duo took off.

The suspects were heading north on Biscayne Boulevard when their black Lexus plowed into an SUV.

"(The car) come over the median section of the road right in front. Hit me. His car stopped. Opened the door and ran away," said Frank, whose car was hit in the incident.

North Miami Beach police arrived on the scene quickly and nabbed the two suspects.

Luckily no one was killed between the gun fire and the car crashes.

"Why? Why? For a dollar, 10 dollars, a cell phone, a gold chain?" O'Neil said. "Please, this violence gotta stop."

Authorities have not released the names of the two men in custody.
