Tropical Storm Fernand To Make Landfall In Mexico
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Tropical Storm Fernand has formed in the Bay of Campeche and will make landfall along the Mexico coastline.
As of the 11:00 p.m. advisory, a tropical storm warning has been issued for the Gulf Coast of Mexico from Veracruz to Barra De Nautla.
Tropical Storm Fernand has winds of 50 mph is moving west at 9 mph.
A northwest turn is expected late Sunday.
The center of the storm will move over the Mexico coast by early Monday.
The tropical storm could produce 4 to 8 inches of rain over Veracruz, Hidalgo, Northern Puebla, Southern Tamaulipas and eastern San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
Isolated 12 inch rainfall totals are possible resulting in life-threatening flash floods and mud slides.
The system will have no impact on South Florida.
