Trade Between Dolphins And Eagles Appears Back On Track

DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The term fluid situation doesn't seem to begin to describe the potential trade between the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles.
It was announced earlier this week and seemed to be a deal that pleased both parties.
Miami would acquire cornerback Byron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso from the Eagles, the teams would swap 2016 first round picks (Miami gets the 13th pick and Philly gets the 8th) with the Dolphins also sending a 4th round pick to Philadelphia, though the draft picks were a part of the deal that was never confirmed.
Wednesday morning reports trickled out that Maxwell's physical with the Dolphins did not go well and that the trade was in jeopardy.
This was all before 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
About two hours later Maxwell's agent tweeted out that his client had in fact passed his physical, which led to speculation that the trade was back on.
Not long after that, several reports surfaced that the trade had been finalized and would be made official after 4 p.m. when the NFL's free agency period begins.
It also appears that the Dolphins and Eagles would only be swapping first rounders, with no other draft picks changing hands.
The 2016 Dolphins will certainly have a different look under new general manager Chris Grier and new head coach Adam Gase.
Miami is expected to lose running back Lamar Miller and defensive tackle Olivier Vernon in free agency.
The Dolphins had initially placed the transition tag on Vernon but rescinded it on Wednesday morning.
Expect there to be more changes on the Dolphins roster in the coming days.
