Top Indoor Basketball Courts In South Florida

Even in South Florida the weather can get cold in the winter and oftentimes wet! So indoor basketball courts are a must for those that are fans of the game. These five locations offer great indoor basketball courts for beginners and advanced players. Be sure to shoot some hoops at one of these courts this winter!

This indoor gymnasium hosts an indoor basketball court, dance/aerobic room and fitness center with cardio and strength training equipment. It is one of many gyms and indoor courts that are part of the city of Miami's parks and recreation system. Please note there are daily admission fees as well as membership fees for those interested in long term options.

Not only does this location offer a great indoor basketball court but also an abundance of other amenities and activities as well. This is a great place to make a day enjoying recreation indoors. In addition to the courts, the youth center has bowling lanes, an ice skating rink, fitness center, game room, swimming pool (which is heated in the winter to maintain a toasty 82 degrees), sheltered patio (great for family gatherings), gymnastics and many programs, classes and activities. For basketball enthusiasts, this is the best bet for courts in South Florida as they offer three courts in their large gym and another court in their smaller gym. Don't miss their spa and sauna to relax in after a tough game. The courts can also be converted for volleyball and badminton for those looking to play multiple sports on their visit. They also offer a juice bar for healthy drink options before and after a game.

Parents, if you are looking for an indoor option for the kids and entire family, Funderdome is the place to be. Best of all, parents can play along with their kids or relax in their cafe while their kids play. Their sports court in the sky is a one-of-a-kind basketball (or soccer) court that can be accessed through the Vertical Tower. In addition to the court, there is plenty to do here with laser mazes, ropes courses and even a climbing wall. Please note no shoes are allowed in the play areas, only socks.

Residents in the Keys, especially Key West, can take advantage of the indoor basketball court at Fredrick Douglass Gym. The gym also hosts a basketball league from December to March, which consists of a boys league who plays 55 games and a girls league who plays 11 games during the season. Fredrick Douglass Gym is run and operated by the City of Key West. While there, parents can also take advantage of the free tutoring program the gym offers for children that need academic help.
