Ahead of the anniversary of the tragic day, the Student Veterans Association at the university will plant 3,000 U.S. Flags  in the common area of the campus and at various entry points on Thursday.

There will also be a remembrance table inside the Don Taft University Center.

The group said they wanted to mark the solemn occasion in a way that would "respect and dignify those who lost their lives on that fateful day."
