South Florida To Sizzle Again But Temps Slightly Lower
DORAL (CBS4) – South Florida will continue to sizzle Thursday but after days of sweltering, record-breaking summer heat, it probably won't be quite as hot as it's been the last few days.
Wednesday, Miami broke another record high when it soared to 96 degrees which broke the old record of 94 degrees set in 2010.
Thursday, highs are expected to be in the low 90s as the winds are forecast to shift out of the East.
"The past few days the Westerly winds have helped temperatures climb well above average and record levels, but with the winds off the ocean, that will help to knock a few degrees off the highs," said CBS4 Meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez.
It's still hazy across portions of South Florida due to some smoke and Thursday afternoon some storms are possible, although the rain chance will decrease with the possibility of a few showers on Friday.
Father's Day weekend all depends on a tropical wave the CBS4 storm team is monitoring. The moisture associated with the wave may enhance the storm chance by the later part of the weekend and into early next week.
For now, expect weekend highs to be closer to normal, around 90 degrees, with more of a breeze and spotty showers.
