MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The 'Drac Pack' is back at Hotel Transylvania 2. Things have changed, mostly for the better. The rigid "monster only" policy is out. Now, humans can check-in at the hotel.

But Dracula is worried his half-human, half-vampire grandson Dennis isn't showing signs of being a vampire.

His mom, Mavis, played by Selena Gomez, only wants the best for her child.

"Mavis is so great!" said Gomez, referring to her character. "In the first one, I was just happy to say I lived her life. This one has such an incredible message. This one is about accepting people for who they are."

This film has an all-star cast that includes Adam Sandler as Dracula, Andy Samberg, Kevin James, David Spade, Fran Drescher and more.  All huge stars, but with an animated film not a lot of face-time togetherness.

"We had conflicting schedules, so we didn't get to see each other, but I know them all from before and they are all so great, but I had to imagine they were there," Gomez said.

Gomez has grown up in front of the camera since age 7 – she's now 23.

Her romance with Justin Bieber is over. Her life making headlines is almost daily. It was a lot, and she's learned a lot from all the attention.

"What would you say to yourself now, to yourself at age 7, if you could?" asked CBS4's Lisa Petrillo.

"To hold onto the confidence. When you are younger you want to do everything and you think you to be everything to everyone. Now, I feel like I'm in the best place in my life growing up is hard," she said.

And these days, Selena is relying on girl power with the constant support of her best friend Taylor Swift. It's a friendship she counts on.

"Me and Taylor have been friends for eight years now. So it's great. Now at every single awards show they put us together. We used to have to call. Now  they automatically put us together. It's tradition," she said.

Selena is also keeping busy with her music. Her new album "Revival" drops October 10th, but for now, Selena is hoping audiences check in to see the charming Hotel Transylvania 2.

"I really think it's for everyone. It has all the guys like Adam and Andy and David and for everyone else, it's light hearted and it's so funny," Gomez said.

Hotel Transylvania 2 is rated PG and opens in theaters Friday.
